My name is George Ohan and I am a U.S. Army Veteran who loves the fact that Clovis Veterans Memorial District stepped up to ensure that Freedom Fest 2017 will be a GO on July 4th! YES, It’s on!!! I will be there, I hope to see you too.

There was a scare earlier this year about “Freedom Fest” being canceled or not. The rumors are over…

We are celebrating a fun and safe 4^th of July at Lamonica Stadium in Clovis!

How could they get rid of 12 consecutive years… “Best in the Region” Fireworks show! Don’t waste your time with those lousy sparklers, there will be a USA sized fireworks show right in Clovis.

Have you ever heard about the Biggest & Best Independence Day celebration in the Valley? It’s called FREEDOM FEST and it’s held at Clovis High School on July 4^th, 2017!

Bring the family to enjoy food, drinks, games, activities and top-shelf entertainment.

Basic information that you’ll need:

Time: Gates open at 4:00PM – Fireworks at Dusk

Cost: $5

Place: Clovis High School, Lamonica Stadium

*No pets, glass, fireworks, tobacco, alcohol, and loitering outside the stadium is Strictly Prohibited.

Many successful entrepreneurs begin by sensing a need, then moving quickly to fill it.  This is either an entirely new product or service, or something as simple as opening the only children's clothing store in a large mall.

What does hard work mean to you?

Most entrepreneurs work long, hard hours.  They focus on their real priorities, especially when times are tough.  (Those who avoid the tough problems by burying themselves in their original area of expertise often fail.)

Focus

It's not just how hard you work, but the way you work that counts.  Successful owners/managers resist the temptation to do what comes easiest.  Instead they do what is most essential.

It's a team sport

Typical entrepreneurs have a strong drive toward independence, plus the ability to be a good team player when the need for cooperation arises.

Trust process may be slow

Entrepreneurs must be extremely self-confident to accept the risks involved in starting a business.  This helps them overcome enormous obstacles to achieve their goals.  In addition, they can temper their self-confidence with objectivity and change course and cut losses where necessary.

Change is constant

Successful entrepreneurs adjust to the changing demands of a growing business and develop the skills to deal with them.  they become managers of other people's work so their business can grow quickly and achieve spectacular success.

Make the right choice

Entrepreneurs make wise decisions without taking too much time to make up their minds.  When they lack the knowledge to make sound decisions on their own, they seek information and advice without hesitation.

Thrive in stressful environments

Entrepreneurs face many crises on the road to prosperity.  To survive, they often unwind with sports and hobbies.  Many are encouraged by the understanding of their spouses and families.

Do you want to win?

Successful entrepreneurs have a single-minded, almost compulsive desire to succeed.  Although financial rewards are important, they are often secondary in the drive towards personal achievement.

Be about your money

Running a business brings many rewards--independence, community prestige, personal satisfaction--but entrepreneurs never lose sight of the need to make a profit.  They know that return on investment is the ultimate measure of success.

Be honest about who you are

Almost ALL entrepreneurs start with some weaknesses.  Those who succeed recognize their limitation and are always ready to seek and use outside help when the situation demands it.

NOTE: You must acknowledge and deal with self-limiting beliefs you may harbor.  They can cripple your efforts to achieve success and must be eliminated through positive self-programming and reinforcement.

(5 minute read)

As a former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and currently serving Active Duty Hustler, I would like to offer a few points of interest that might help a business person. These are things that I’ve learned from mentors, past experiences from life, military service and business situations.

1.     Only delegate tasks to trustworthy and responsible people. Don’t trust a dumbass with an important task.

2.     You MUST delegate a certain amount of responsibility; then, let it go.

3.     Have a PLAN. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

4.     What are you doing to help others along your journey? Write it out.  How do you add value to the lives of others?

5.     To build a team, you MUST become a better leader. Self-Growth. Define leadership.

6.     People are looking for someone to follow. Be a LEADER. Are you doing something worthy enough to gain the interest of others?  Who will help you BUILD your vision? What positions do you need filled; put names of people who you know on a "wish-list" team.

7.     Are you fulfilled by your work? Do you offer fulfilling work to others? When you ask someone to “help” you, is it bullsh*t? …Or, do you involve that person in something worthwhile?

8.     Accountability. When you ask someone to do something, do you follow up? Call, email, text, social media inbox, by any means necessary. "I need my sh*t."

9.     Heart & Desire. I can’t teach you to “WANT” it… Is “this” what you really want? What do you want from the efforts that you are putting in?

10. What is your definition of success? ..Ask yourself and your team this very serious question. Know what’s important to you, and the people who are closest to you. You want to ensure that you’re all moving in the same direction.

Try to answer these questions with yourself, and your current or future team in mind. Entrepreneurship is a team sport. Always be assessing your situation, while being prepared to take ACTION. At any moment you may need to pivot your business strategy. If something is not working, you must change it to survive.
