Local composer and pianist, Gina Leneé, celebrates the release of her highly anticipated album 'Red Diamonds', a stunning collection of her newest original songs produced by
Will Ackerman, Founder of Windham Hill Records.

This musical experience will blow you away!

Gina’s expressive, original modern piano compositions combine with brilliant musical contributions from internationally recognized recording artists and GRAMMY WINNERS:

Will Ackerman

Though he is most widely recognized as the founder of the Windham Hill record label, Will is a highly accomplished Grammy Award winning musician in his own right, a steel-string guitar player in what Ackerman prefers to call the “contemporary instrumental” genre. His musical career has earned him multiple Platinum and Gold records.

Todd Boston

Todd is a composer, guitarist, multi instrumentalist and producer that defies what is possible for one musician. Todd fuses advanced finger style guitar techniques, wood flutes, percussion and instruments of the world together. He has toured internationally reaching audiences in the US, Europe, Russia, India and more.

Eugene Friesen

Originally from Fresno, Eugene is a multiple Grammy award-winning cellist. “Friesens’ frenzied bowings and soaring melodies… sent many in the audience home in a state of musical rapture” – The Washington Post.

Jeff Haynes

Jeff is a Grammy award winning percussionist and producer. He has toured with everyone from the Pat Metheny Group, Al Jarreau and Lizz Wright to Harry Belafonte and Peabo Bryson. His music can be heard on nearly 200 CDs.The Los Angeles Times raves about his “nonpareil solo and ensemble work” Haynes brings a sound to today’s music scene that takes percussion beyond “technique” and “tradition”.

Jeff Oster

Often described as Miles Davis meets Pink Floyd, trumpet/flugelhorn artist Jeff Oster has a sound that is a unique combination of his parent’s influences of 30s and 40s lyrical standards and his own passion for progressive rock, with some jazz/funk thrown in for good measure.

Premik Russell Tubbs

Premik has worked with everyone from Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock,
Jackson Browne, James Taylor,
Sting and Lady Gaga, to name a few. He is an accomplished multi instrumentalist
performing on various flutes, soprano, alto and tenor saxophones,
wind synthesizers, and lap steel guitar.

Actor - Kemery Ball - KP1 Studios stage combat /stunt class

Kemery's blog

Stunt Class at Fulton Film Company
Last week I arrived at what I thought would be my normal actors’ workout. Little did I know I would end up beating the crud out of my acting coach and loving every minute of it! Don’t get it twisted; I don’t have a mean bone in my body.

Instead of our normal class that night we had a stunt/fight scene class. I learned to punch, slap, and kick someone on camera without connecting. I also learned how to take a beating for the camera safely.

There were three girls there that night. First we all practiced the basics of fighting on camera with coach Kp Phagnasay. Then after practicing George and Kp of Fulton Film Company scripted a fight scene and then from there it was on! The scene was set; Kp was a robber who had broken in to the studio. The three girls were there to defend their territory. We all had a weapon.

The three of us huddled around Kp ready for battle. My weapon of choice, coat hangers! Yep, I can hook a mean ear with a pair of coat hangers. We each took our turn giving Kp a beating. Then after he was hurting we turned the lights off and he got slammed to the floor.

Wow, we had way too much fun giving KP a beat down.

We were having a ball. We did the take over and over again, but never once was it boring. Each time we did the scene we got better at it, until we were in a sort of dance until the end of the scene. We laughed between takes and watching ourselves beat Kp on camera.

We were so wrapped up in our scene we barely noticed George Ohan rolling on the ground and jumping through air to get the perfect shot.

This class was amazing. I never thought I would enjoy on screen fighting. I look forward to more stunt and fighting classes at Fulton Film Company and I would highly recommend you give it a try.

Should I go to a film festival?

GI Film Festival
#GIFF2017

Film lovers and independent filmmakers should attend film festivals to meet like-minded people who love movies. Below you will see a list of things that a person would consider before attending a festival of their choice.

What do I do at a film festival?
-Pass out your business cards to people who you’d like to connect with
-Attend every possible industry panel and film screening with Q & A
-Follow up with each person who gives you contact information within 72 hours
-Be on time, all the time
-Make notes after important conversations

Is it expensive to attend a film festival?
-Be a volunteer at any festival that you’d like to attend
-Offer your services in exchange for a festival pass
-Buy tickets to individual screenings that you want to attend only
-Travel with friends and share costs
-Ask people who have attended that festival about a “survival guide”

What happens at a film festival?
-Filmmakers who are producing quality projects meet each other
-Gather information about upcoming productions that you may want to work on
-Meet festival sponsors and board members with connections
-Recruit film crew and talent for your future films
-Film screenings of independent projects followed by Q & A with filmmakers

Who do I talk to at a film festival?
-Everyone who will listen to you
-Make a list of people who you want to meet
-Why do you want to meet certain people; have questions prepared
-Ask the audience questions about their experience at the festival
-Board members, Jury members, filmmakers

What is my pitch?
-What can I tell people about myself
-Can I explain my project in less than 2 minutes
-Have a specific ASK
-Who is my target audience for my pitch
-Rehearsals are key to pitching better

I would encourage any independent filmmaker to attend the GI Film Festival in Washington D.C. from May 24 – May 28, 2017. You will enjoy 5 days of greatness at the 11th season of the “Sundance for the Troops” in D.C. this year.           -George Ohan
