CinemaCon first came about in 2011 and since then has grown to become the largest gathering of cinema owners and the film industry movers and shakers.

MGM - No Time to Die 007

It was an amazing event which lasted from August 23rd-August 26th in the beautiful Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino.  All COVID-19 safety protocols were in place and followed by the participants.

Mr. Marcus T. Bovee II with Deepwater Productions took "Narco Sub" and his team to Las Vegas, Nevada for this top-level industry event.

The intention for the people who attended was to build on past relationships, and to create new strategic partnerships.  As things change rapidly with entertainment business, it is very important to know the right people.

At CinemaCon we experienced exclusive Hollywood presentations of upcoming films, attendance of film stars, producers and Patty Jenkins, the director of "Wonder Woman 1984" as a speaker on a panel.

Do you have your thumb on the pulse of what's going on in the

movie theatre industry?

Discussing film projects. . .

What do you know about the current state of affairs for

film distribution?

CinemaCon isn’t just a gathering for Hollywood exclusives and big wigs; it's a huge cinema industry trade show, that covers all facets of the industry such as: the newest equipment, exhibition tools, distribution strategy, marketing, publicity, and advertising.

As well as concessions dealers, showcasing their latest and greatest cinema food!!

Most of the usual suspects of Hollywood were there, but a few larger companies seemed like they were non-existent at the show this year.

Impact Releasing / VetFlicks

Why did they skip the show?

Are these large Hollywood companies banking on streaming vs. cinema, maybe they are taking extra precautions for COVID-19, or are they tightening up on budgets

Thanks to the generosity of Derek H. Potts and his executive team at Deepwater Productions, "Narco Sub" was the ONLY independently produced film being shopped around in the private mixers at CinemaCon.

This is an exclusive and huge opportunity for anyone who works in the film industry.

"Narco Sub" showed true leadership for the independent film community by showing up and representing at CinemaCon 2021.

What makes this year unique vs. past years?

Many things. . .

People are collaborating to seek answers about the future of the industry.

There are actors, producers, architects, and cinema owners in attendance.

We are proud to be a part of a motivated group of people who are genuinely interested to find a way to save our precious industry.

What did people talk about at the convention?

Jeff Whipple from Megaplex Theatres in Sandy, Utah suggested that we start a hashtag #CouchesToCinemas or something along those lines. . . It was an intriguing conversation about audiences streaming vs. going to the movies.

The basic idea is that we need to get people to get back into the Cinemas to experience stories on the Big Screens again.

Streaming on a TV is really cool, but the experience of going to a Cinema is something that deserves to be shared with future generations.
