Independent Films Double Down, as Hollywood Films Back Down

Welling Films - Narco Sub
As we move into the Fall of our second year in a pandemic, we begin to see new trends within the film industry emerging. Blockbuster films such as Avatar 2, The Batman, and Mission Impossible 7 have all been postponed or pushed back due to Hollywood’s crackdown on Covid, leaving fans in anticipation for extra weeks, months, and even years. Streaming vs. the Big Screens?

With movie lovers looking to get off the couch and back into theaters, the search for entertainment has begun. Luckily, we need to look no further than to independent films, who have decided to take the time and effort necessary to meet their promised release dates during these times.

Independent writers, producers, and filmmakers are pushing the envelope and beginning to fill in the void that major blockbusters are leaving for fans. The indie film companies are using data and spending the marketing budgets needed to compete with "hollywood" titles at the box office.

Executive Producer, Derek H. Potts brings us one of those independent films with "Narco Sub" the independent Action/Adventure film of the Summer. Packed full of raw talent and suspense, the audience follows the compelling story of a former U.S. Navy Seal who becomes a criminal, to rescue his wife and daughter from the Colombian drug cartel. The Remi Award winner for “Best Action Film” is sure to provide movie-goers with all of the entertainment satisfaction we are looking for.

Not only are independent films putting in the effort to meet release dates, they are also strategically collaborating with cinema owners to identify new opportunities during these changing times. With the postponement of major movies, theaters have been struggling to put new content on the Big Screens.

Welling Films - Narco Sub

Independent filmmakers have realized this situation, which makes them work even harder to meet deadlines and support theaters in ways that may have not been possible pre-pandemic. There is an obvious need for localization, as it pertains to movies and a specific audience.

So, the next time you’d like to see a movie, look out for independent titles making a difference in the film industry. Be a part of "Narco Sub" and the Summer of Stryker movement.

Commander Stryker will do anything to get his kidnapped family back from the Colombian drug cartel leader, played by well-known actor Robert LaSardo. “Narco Sub” is Action packed, and setting a higher standard of quality, for independently produced films. You will also see appearances by a couple of our favorite actors, Tom Sizemore and Mr. Lee Majors.

Set to release September 10th in Central Florida, this movie has already been instrumental in starting much needed conversations about creating a solution for the worldwide problem of Human Trafficking.

“Narco Sub” has won a Remi Award for “Best Action Film”, given back immensely to the military community, and has pushed through the Covid-19 business shut-downs. . . All of this happened to ensure that their story was told on the big screens, and experienced by fans across the United States. There are several “Hollywood” film titles which cannot boast about nearly as many accomplishments in 2021.

This shows the passion, entrepreneurial spirit and true grit of the leadership behind the “Narco Sub” film project. This movie is a must see for any action film fans looking to escape for 96 minutes into the tranquil sanctuary that we call a Movie Theatre. . .

A big salute goes to partners like Epic Theatres who have made it possible for more diverse content to be seen by a wider audience. The independent film community relies on forward-thinking theatre owners to collaborate with, so films like “Narco Sub” will have a chance to be seen “at the movies”.

U.S. Army veteran Mr. Marcus T. Bovee II created a professional community collaboration between VetTix and VetFlicks/Impact Releasing to offer complimentary tickets, popcorn, t-shirts, and a beverage, so military families can step into a theatre and create a new positive experience together.

The military community has been on the edge of their seats all Summer long as they watched “Narco Sub” during the #SummerofStryker Military Appreciation Watch Party screenings. The team at Deepwater Productions show the film industry what giving back to military families really looks like.

U.S. military veterans make movie waves in Florida - Narco Sub

"Narco Sub"

Summer of Stryker

Can a small team of independent media professionals gain market share from giant Hollywood Studios?  Yes. It takes a high level of quality experience and confidence to accept the mission of going head to head against the Hollywood machine

“Narco Sub” uses entertainment to bring attention to human trafficking, which is a worldwide problem that we face; and this message is important enough to defy all odds. Bringing a film to the big screen during COVID-19 is no easy task.

Imagine an independent film like "Narco Sub" taking Big Screens away from a Hollywood movie title at the cinemas! That's a big deal.  There are a limited amount of screens in the USA, and every film project is competing for the attention of cinema owners.

Patriot Day eve, September 10, 2021 Deepwater Productions and U.S. Army veteran Mr. Marcus T. Bovee II, CEO of VetFlicks will bring new film content to the big screens. The problem is that theatres have been denied new films by Studios for the past year. It makes it very challenging to operate a business like a theatre if the people who own the content are not sharing it. Now these cinema owners will honor their exhibition family relationships with independent film distributor, Impact Releasing, by screening “Narco Sub” to live audiences in Central Florida, USA.

Integrity and levels of high character are always in style, in business and with personal relationships. This is why when things got tough in the external environment, Mr. Bovee and his team did not lay down to die. They knew an audience was starving for new content, and they wanted to serve their community. There is a story here about resilience, true grit and doing whatever it takes to connect with the right people.

An unexpected opportunity was created since the pandemic, and CinemaCon is where “Narco Sub” moved in to gain rapid business growth. What this team has accomplished is the glimmer of hope and inspiration needed for the indie film community.
USMC veteran, Oscar Garcia of Magnitude Visuals has been an integral part of developing the entertainment business strategy with Impact Releasing/VetFlicks. They are collaborating with smiles and standing their ground in uncertain times.
